Then we might ask you to include your name, contact and sometimes other info like business details, so when you comment, contact us or use us to promote your news for instance by uploading info about your events, we know who you are and can contact you if we need to. The info will be there on the relevant form to consent to or not.
When you leave a comment
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
